envecon 2026 Call for Papers & Posters
Submit your abstract by 1 December 2025

The call for papers and posters for envecon 2026, UKNEE’s annual applied environmental economics conference, is now open! The event will take place on March 20th, 2026, at the Royal Society, London.
This year’s theme focuses on ensuring nature stays part of the political and business conversations. We have the evidence showing economic goals cannot be achieved without due consideration of nature and climate. Let’s share that and discuss practical pathways for policy and markets that can achieve nature and climate positive growth.
Papers covering jobs, growth, finance, resilience in all sectors are encouraged. Please consider submitting any work you’d like to present and share this call across your networks and organisations to invite others to apply.
You can find more information, including the submission instructions, here.

Join Charlotte Sugden (AtkinsRéalis) and Sophie Spencer (West of England Mayoral Combined Authority) as they present a business case on the role of public funding in regional nature recovery that is needed to enhance resilience and address biodiversity loss.
The team’s analysis found that investing in nature recovery is economically viable, offering benefits for health, climate resilience, and sustainable growth. More ambitious options deliver better value for money, while under-investment risks higher economic, environmental, and health costs. The business case estimates that over £1 billion is needed for regional nature recovery, but current funding falls far short.
EAERE DEI Workshop 2026

EAERE invites academics, researchers, and early-career scholars to explore the intersections of food production, bioenergy, water, environmental accounting, and social equity, with a particular focus on groups marginalised by gender, ethnicity, or religion.
We welcome contributions on how environmental accounting frameworks can be applied to assess the impacts and resource efficiencies of interconnected food and bioenergy systems, while also addressing equity and inclusion. With an interdisciplinary approach, the event aims to foster dialogue on navigating these sectors toward sustainable and just futures.
