Adaptation in motion:
Temporary mitigation under heat stress
with Moumita Das, University of California Santa Cruz

We welcome you to join us for our June webinar. You can register here.
Following about a month after the release of the UK's Climate Change Risk Assessment by the Climate Change Committee, we will be hosting PhD Candidate Moumita Das to discuss the economic implications of climate-driven migration. Using a large-scale panel survey in India, this study explores two key migration channels: temperature-induced reduction in productivity and under provision of local public services. This study also explores and quantifies the change in welfare costs of restricting each migration channel given different scenarios.
About Moumita Das
Moumita is a PhD Candidate in Economics who works at the intersection of labour, climate change, and environmental impacts in developing countries. She has worked with the Asian Development Bank's Climate Adaptation Team on climate resilience in food systems in Southeast Asia.
